Learn more about Newport Beach
Forget the glitz of 'The O.C.' - the real Newport Beach delivers California dreams without requiring a millionaire's budget. Balboa Pier extends into the Pacific like an exclamation point, while sailors navigate the harbour with the casual confidence of people who consider boats essential transport. Fashion Island mall offers retail therapy between beach sessions, though locals prefer the quirky charm of Balboa Island's waterfront shops. Take the charming ferry to explore this man-made island's boutiques and frozen banana stands (yes, just like on television). Crystal Cove's tide pools reveal miniature underwater worlds, while Newport Dunes provides calm waters perfect for families. The Balboa Fun Zone maintains its old-school carnival atmosphere despite the surrounding affluence.

Hyatt Regency Newport Beach
"A fantastic hotel for a family of 4 (kids aged 14 & 12). We stayed for 2 nights and wished it had been longer. A good location, a good pool (we only used the one near the gym) and rooms were fine for what we needed if the beds were a little narrow. The gym was decent and service and main hotel area was lovely. Would stay again."
Little Inn By The Bay Newport Beach
"Great location and clean property!"
Holiday Inn Express Newport Beach by IHG
"Decent location. Good walk to the beach"
Dorymans Oceanfront Inn
"We had a great 2-night stay. Location is the best, enjoyed room 1. It is different, small, cozy and comfortable with lots of windows and mirrors. It is a corner room so windows on two walls, nice ocean view and breeze. Room has a table with 2 chairs so could eat breakfast and play cards while watching the beach happenings below. We had everything we needed. Just be aware of sheet sweeper early in the morning before 6am, comes by about 8 times. close up windows at night and use A/C so it won't be as loud."
Renaissance Newport Beach Hotel
"This was a amazing place to be and also it’s beautiful and the customer service was very welcoming"
Hyatt Regency Newport Beach West
"Only there one night."
Lido House, Autograph Collection
"The bar turned into a college bar at night and the staff up top is aggressive we are a couple in our 40s and just went up to finish our night but it is not a classy or elegant vibe. You cannot enjoy the evening up top as a family or a couple or a small group of friends men were taking shirts off getting loud at the end it was not the right place for this but the hotel said it’s been a scene for locals lately"
VEA Newport Beach, A Marriott Resort & Spa
"In my opinion microwaves should be added back to hotels in California it's a necessity, the staff was good, the food wasn't bad the bartender was good and our room was great besides the no microwave thing."
Newport Channel Inn - Near Huntington State Beach
"Our stay was great and the best is near the beach!!! Staff was excellent and that makes a big difference."

- Be flexible with dates: Prices can fluctuate due to various factors, including the hotel's location, star rating, and the time of year. Therefore, being flexible with your travel dates may help you find better rates for your stay at a hotel in Newport Beach. If you're seeking a distinctive experience, boutique hotels often provide a more personalised touch and can sometimes offer better value. When you make a booking through Hotels.com, we will inform you whether the price for your chosen dates is above or below the average. If the price appears to be on the higher side, we may suggest alternative dates that could offer more affordable options to assist you in finding a favourable deal.
- Consider your location: Hotels near the city centre usually tend to be more expensive; however, given Newport Beach's excellent public transport links, you might encounter a more affordable independent hotel located further afield that is still well connected. For those wishing to explore alternative, less crowded neighbourhoods or even lesser-known nearby towns, there is often excellent value for money.
