The reality of this property is even better than pictures and description offer. The beachfront is truly lovely and the grounds are very well maintained. It seemed that all of the people working at the resort really enjoyed their jobs, and they were all so eager to help and make our stay excellent. I thought it would be awkward to share common spaces with others, but the shared areas were large and well distributed for groups, and the private rooms offer all the privacy we needed. These villas are such a gem!

Everything about this hotel was terrific. The service was excellent, the shared kitchen, living room and patio were spacious and spotless. The wifi was fast. Every meal we had at the restaurant was delicious. Highly recommend the lobster and the rum punch. The pool just steps outside our room was private (just for the villa) so never crowded and always convenient. We had a beautiful view of the beach while working or just chilling.

A short birthday getaway. This place exceeded my expectations in all areas! Beautiful common area with a full kitchen, private pool, hammocks on The beach. The villa has four separate bedrooms, and we had it all to ourselves! A perfect place for families or multiple couples traveling together.

The two ladies at the front desk are very poor customer service, I had to wave a bus down to get myself transported since they just wanted to sit there and look pretty when i asked if they cthelp. This is a stunning property. Every detail is meticulously thought out giving you the amenities of a large property with a small inn feel. The villas consist of 4 suites -which are amazing! The suites can be rented individually or as a whole villa if you are traveling with a group. The restaurant can be reached from within the villas and serves delicious food and drinks along with a spectacular view.There are three large refreshing pools as well as paddle boards, kayaks and bicycles. The staff is friendly and caring. We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cutting edge property.

Christian did an excellent job cleaning the room and laundry, when we first got there the room smelled like musty from the humidity I’m sure, when I asked for the VIap upgrade that was mentioned they said I would have to pay extra and we did get breakfast but had to convince them that is what was advertised. The way the room it is warm in there and you cannot get it to cool even with shutting the bathroom barn door from air conditioning and when you do that it’s a sauna in the bathroom. If you don’t sleep with covers on you at night you can tolerate!!! I have it a 4 because it is a beautiful place and the staff were really nice. Also there is only one pool you can use if you stay in the small villa they do not allow you to swim in the other 2 just some information when you get ready to stay!!

This place is just okay. It is not a resort--it's four apartment buildings with a mediocre restaurant and a 20 minute drive to town. If you think of it like a rental with some amenities rather than a hotel you will be better off. When we arrived, our room was not ready for 85 minutes after check-in time, and it was pouring rain but there was no where for us to go--we literally sheltered inside the tiki bar. The staff seemed to be mostly chatting and not concerned with our room needing to be ready. The concierge doesn't know anything about the local area, they claimed they made a restaurant reservation for us but the restaurant had no record. We booked one tour with them and they didn't quote the price--double what we would have paid online. The space is over designed with tech that breaks a lot--trashcans that you wave your hand over, power curtains. The lighting is generally awful (like a dentist office) and there aren't curtains in the living area so your family is fully on display to anyone at the beach. We stayed in the best room, which is immediately below the restaurant. Every night at 10pm and every morning at 6am we listened as the staff dragged the tables and chairs across the floor. You couldn't drown out the noise with white noise. The place is spacious and the kayaks, etc. are nice. I got an awesome massage, and the family had a good time but there are MUCH better places in the area.
No one actually needs an outdoor shower--but you do need doors to the outside that seal so that bugs don't get in.
No one needs a self-heating mirror that is just going to degrade quickly.
None of the drawers close well--shoddy construction. Everything feels like cheap stuff trying to be nice.
Inexplicable use of barn door closures everywhere that aren't properly on their track.

I had a really great experience at Villas at playa de coco! I was a solo traveller so I was prioritizing feeling safe, having access to food onsite, and learning about the local culture. All of this was met with my stay. Fred, the owner, made sure all accommodations were ready and was extremely friendly to ensure my stay was great. It was very clean and quiet (I stayed during slow season). There was laundry so I was able to come home with clean clothes. The outdoor shower was incredible and let me watch the sunset while I got ready for dinner. Golf carts were so convenient to get to the village and everyone was so friendly. Even though it was slow season the service was not lacking. I had snorkeling booked one day and the place cancelled last minute due to “not enough people”. This was a big reason I went to Belize. Fred worked to get me out that day anyway and I ended up having a private tour around one of the Cayes. I’ll definitely be back. Thank you so much!
