A fantastic place. Friendly and helpful staff/owners. A beautiful, modern guesthouse that blends in well with the historic surroundings. As with other accommodation of this type, you should do your shopping on the way if you plan to stay in a room with kitchen facilities (the family room). There are no supermarkets in the immediate vicinity. Take a short walk up the road both opposite and next to the guesthouse. The views are magnificent in both directions. We’ll definitely be back!

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very well maintained. One of the things I enjoyed most was its location among the vineyards. Stepping outside and walking through the surrounding area offered beautiful views of the Douro landscape and made for a truly relaxing experience. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The food was also excellent. Everything exceeded my expectations. If I could give this hotel 8 stars out of 5, I would. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Douro Valley.

Nestled in the heart of the Duoro Valley, we had a wonderful stay at Casa Dona Edite and were blown away by the kindness and hospitality of the family that runs this place. They made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. The views of the Douro Valley vineyards and hills were stunning, and we especially loved the family-style dinners, where we met so many interesting people. Breakfast was excellent, with delicious homemade offerings each morning. The amenities were modern and spotless, and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool and spending time with the friendly family dog. The family-made 25 year old port wine was also fantastic and a highlight of our stay. Transfers to and from Pinhão were easy and convenient. Casa Dona Edite offers a warm, authentic Douro Valley experience, and we would happily return. Thank you for the lovely stay!

We loved staying at Casa Dona Edite! It’s a tastefully decorated, modern guesthouse and the owners, Antonio and Cristina and their son, Eduardo are the perfect hosts. Cristina is an excellent Cook and baker, and we strongly recommend to have your dinner meals there. She also bakes loaves and cakes as part of the breakfast offerings. Well worth the drive up the hill to stay at their place!

I can’t say enough good things about the family that runs Casa Dona and the property. They went above and beyond for our stay. From recommendations on what to do, traditional Portuguese dinners being served; cooked by the family and when my wife and I couldn’t get a taxi in the morning they drove us to the train station. Amazing hidden gem in Douro valley!

What an amazing stay! This place is beautiful, clean and comfortable. The location is amazing. The best part are the amazing hosts! They make it very comfortable and can provide great local tips. Very relaxing environment and a great breakfast included. It was such a good hidden gem that my wife and I considered canceling the rest of our travel plans the next week to just stay, relax and take in the area.

Very new very clean . It is a steep and narrow road to get there for about 3-4 kilometres. You have to travel slow to feel safe .
