This would have been 4 or even 5 out of stars... but we booked a Junior Suite (40 sq metres, living area etc). Upon arrival, we were told we were being given an upgrade because we had requested a double bed. The "upgrade" turned out to be a big downgrade (normal room, 22 sq metres). Room 206 - very small room.
When we asked for our original room, we were told it was not available.
We realise that mistakes happen and for whatever reason our room was allocated to another couple. We would have appreciated some honesty, rather than trying to fool us.
This is a shame, because this actually a great hotel otherwise. We managed to glimpse the Suite we booked and it was a great-looking room. Avoid rooms 106 and 206 (they are both the same size). The pool area is excellent, breakfast was great, the staff - with the notable exception of the person who checked us in - were extremely friendly and nice to deal with.
It's also a great location, if you don't mind the remoteness. You need a car (or taxi) to go anywhere.
So it is difficult to recommend this hotel, based on the experience we had. But we also understand that ours was quite an isolated experience, and all the other guests - especially the couple who got our room, who we met with and were very nice people - were happy.
Next time, we suggest you are honest with your customers, if a similar mistake happens.
