Golden Triangle Hotels

The Golden Triangle is the heart of Jakarta's business world, with international businesses, banks, and embassies occupying the shiny skyscrapers that make up the cityscape. Located inside 3 main roads that give the Golden Triangle its name, the area is well connected to the rest of the city, and is a popular spot for business travellers to stay. However, there's plenty for leisure travellers to enjoy too, from malls to historic sites during the day, to upmarket restaurants and lively clubs at night.

Things to see

Kota Kasablanka Mall is a distinctive, towering silver building which houses 5 floors of shopping and entertainment. This bright, air-conditioned mall has international stores and smaller, local boutiques, a vast food court where you can sample fast food from around the world, and specialist food stores selling Indonesian favourites. Thamrin City Shopping Mall is an older shopping centre, easily spotted from its colourful exterior. The mall is well known among local bargain hunters, with the atmosphere being a bit more like a market than a traditional shopping centre. Over several floors, you'll be able to peruse busy stalls piled high with clothes, accessories, electronics, and much more, and hear the constant ring of hagglers noisily bartering for a bargain. Gelora Bung Karno Stadium is part of a large complex that includes a convention centre and hotels, and on busy nights over 80,000 fans pack into the stands. Football is the main draw, with Indonesian and international teams playing on the pitch, but it's also a popular spot for concerts, with many household names taking to the stage.
