Nice and relaxing, but not for everyone
This is not your typical hotel stay. If that is what you seek, you will be disappointed. However, we loved that this was less than a mile to San Ignacio, that it was off the beaten path (so minimal road noise), the natural and organic food served, the laid back, friendly, and helpful staff. The rooms are not everything in comfort, as there was no television, telephone, or clock in the room. The room door did not shut unless you used the key to keep in closed. But, it was comfortable enough (just let the hot water run for a minute to warm up). The pool was nice. Definitely an out in the country/jungle feeling. If we ever come back to San Ignacio we would stay here again. If you are looking to unwind and relax after a day of touring, this is a great option.

Owner Bart and his staff were very friendly and accommodating. Service was excellent! I would stay here again.

Accommodations were great. The lodge's restaurant is one of the better dining experiences in the area and completely farm-to-table. About a mile from San Ignacio but completely accessible by short taxi ride.

    loved this place!
We loved this place! Staff was great it’s in the jungle. One of the grounds people made sure we saw the toucans! Food was great! Would have liked to stay longer👍

    Great rainforest getaway
Set in a picturesque corner of the rainforest just outside San Ignacio, the lodge is about a mile from the town; walkable and accessible by taxi. The staff knows virtually all their guests by name, are very friendly, and can set excursions; this is really a place where you should take them up on those offers.

    Very good 8.0
Good local flavor, but not very comfortable.
This "ecolodge" aims at renting simple nature integrated cabins and provide food with local flavor. It achieves this very well. My complaints relate only to secondary issues: 1. My cabin, Gibnut, was close to the street which appears quiet but in fact has a good deal of noise which enters unfiltered the cabin which is not insulated. 2. The bed covers were not wide enough to cover me comfortably. 3. The WiFi works but internet access is slow and intermittent. The garden is splendid, the pool is nice, and has exercise equipment on the deck, an outside dining table and a full kitchen are a plus, the restaurant has a different theme for food each day, but the fares I sampled seemed to me good but not great, so rather expensive for the quality.

    Feels like a second home
We stayed in the vacation apartment and it felt like home from the minute we checked in. Owner and staff and very friendly and welcoming. Grounds of the hotel are amazing - my parents and 3 kids loved it. Was a great location - far enough from town to be peaceful but close enough to serve as our base of operations. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Not fancy or pretentious which for us was a good thing.

Come for the eco-tours; stay for the gourmet food!
The hotel was great but what made it truly special was the staff. Every person was extremely friendly and knowledgeable, not only about the hotel but also the local flora and fauna and other recommendations for Belize. Usually we don't like hotel restaurants but this one was fantastic! Highly recommend the breakfast in particular. One warning is that their tours do book up so plan in advance, rather than wait until you arrive. They might also be large groups; our night hike was ~10 people, including noisy kids who scared away the wildlife. Not the hotel's fault; just be sure to ask questions when you book!

    10/10 Recommend!
The stay was great, with kind and friendly employees! The room was clean with extra towels and linens at hand. Their real coffee in the mornings was life changing! The only downside; the lodge does not sell beer/alcohol. By no means was this a deal breaker...but something to be aware of for shopping in town purposes!

Celiac friendly food in a rustic jungle setting.
I enjoyed this hotel myself. Do not expect a 5 star resort this is more a rustic stay. The location is a good proximity to San Ignacio but far enough away that you do not get the noise of the town. They are very particular about the food they serve and if you have any food sensitivities like Celiac and you need to eat Gluten free. There are plenty of options just let them know. The owner is very personable and enjoys speaking with the guests.
