The owners are lovely and the location is so beautiful! The room has a balcony that overlooks the forest and we’re able to see lots of wildlife. They even prepared us a lovely breakfast and great tasting coffee. Highly recommended!

Beautiful property! Really friendly and helpful owner. We spent one night here when we arrived in San Jose, before heading out of town. It's only 15 minutes from the airport. Our flight arrived late and the owner stayed up to wait for us. We woke up to a lovely breakfast that we ate on our terrace, with a gorgeous view of the lush rainforest. Would stay again, thank you Mathieu!

We came here after camping for 4 days and it was perfect! A great location if you are looking for a hotel that is close to the beautiful nature of Costa Rica and not too far from downtown Alajuela. We will be coming back!

Mathieu and his family were fast to respond to our needs! They arranged to pick us up from the airport, and were super kind. There was 5 of us staying in 1 room for the night, and it was comfortable and great. Breakfast was amazing!

This is a beautiful small family owned hotel, rooms are very clean and comfortable, amazing views from the balcony, but the best part is the family that owns the hotel. They picked us up from the hotel, helped us with renting a car, gave us great info about where to go and what to do. They made our visit to Costa Rica much more enjoyable.

Wonderful stay (we will be back!)
What a wonderful gem of a hotel! The rooms are large and comfortable and you can’t beat the view from the balcony! The breakfast in the morning was a wonderful addition (delicious!). Mathieu was a fabulous host and was easy to communicate with for pick up from the airport. We will definitely be staying at Hotel Pibi Boreal again.
