The apartment was a perfect way to experience Monsanto. Like much of the local architecture, it is built into a boulder and has exposed rock in one corner of upstairs and downstairs. Bathrooms on both floors, a convenient kitchen and a comfortable bed made us wish we had booked for a longer stay!
And the town of Monsanto is magical and worth a few day visit to see the castle, walk the tight historical streets and take in all the wild boulders and building.
Do note that there is free parking nearby, but you cannot drive to the address - you will need to park and walk there a few blocks with your luggage. Not a big deal, but worth noting.
