Hotel was clean and the staff I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Two big fails though: first the pool was closed the entire stay and no explanation was given upon checkin nor was there any notification on their website when I booked the reservation (having this information would have prevented me from booking, so I was NOT pleased to find this out upon check-in.). Use of the pool at a neighbor hotel was little consolation as it was tiny and and would necessitate a walk across the parking lot to use. Next I wanted to do some laundry, but was unable to do so as the change machine was completely empty and was never replenished despite several requests from me. Also the front desk was unable to provide any sort of change as they do not keep cash on site. The irony of this situation would’ve made it laughable if it were not so frustrating. In this day and age, with credit cards being so ubiquitous and with the known coin shortage how a coin operated ANYTHING still exists is amazing to me. And lastly, $24 a NIGHT to park a car? In Orlando?? At a Holiday Inn Express?? In Orlando?? I stayed at a nice 4 star hotel in Manhattan earlier this year and I valet parked my car there for less money. This is honestly egregious, especially since the parking lot was almost non-valet, empty, unsecured, and uncovered.

poor customer service
First, I arrived at the hotel at 3:19pm. upon checking in I was told I couldn't check in until 4pm. Now, I know that check in time is 4pm but I wasn't asking to be put into the room 4 hours early, it was merely 40 minutes. After driving 4hours and needing to change clothes we were left no choice but to leave and change in the bathroom as our trip was for a wedding we were going to. When I arrived later that night to check in at12:30am, I was told by Cesar, that somehow my room was given up and I was placed in a regular 2 queen room. I have a big husband, which is why I asked for the king which is what we normally sleep in at home. So least to say, the 2 nights I spent were extremely uncomfortable not just for myself but for him as well. After getting to the hotel after midnight, and having a lengthy conversation with Cesar, he informed me that for the inconvenience he would give me free parking (which he did) and mark my room down by half. At which point he asked me if I was an IHG member (which I am) and he told me he would get me half off my room. Because it was late he told me settle in and we would speak in the morning. That was the last time I spoke with him. Upon checking out, I spoke with an older lady at the front desk and re-explained everything which in a rude way she told me that I should have booked the room through IHG to get the discount in which I informed her that I did check rates through IHG but they happened to be more than what I found them in Hotels.com.
