Good memory in Kyoto
This hotel is very new and nice model Japanese decoration. Using high quality furniture in the room, it is the nice place to stay and we have a good time during our staying. Staff are very nice and helpful. There are small toys for kids at the lobby and our kids really like them.

New hotel but beware of charges and penalties!
We spent 10 nights in this hotel, which we chose based on the good feedback of the other hotels in the MIMARU chain (the hotel had not yet opened at the time of our booking). Despite the significant length of our stay, upon checkout the staff were going to charge us 1000JPY for a misplaced room key (the common plastic card type). We eventually located it on the bottom of a backpack and handed it back. It left a bitter taste, a gesture of waiving the small fee would have showed that they valued us as guests who spent 1.5 weeks there. The other reviews mention the fact that the hotel is new and rooms are spacious, but we found our room very dark, with no natural light as all the windows were opaque glass. The room ventilation mechanism located next to the bed was noisy, luckily we had earplugs with us. We did not raise these issues with the hotel as we put it down to how Japanese design their buildings, and anyway we couldn’t see how they would rectify them during our stay. The rooms have small kitchens, note however that you will need to wash your own dishes (no dishwasher provided and daily cleaning services only include basic things like replacing toilet paper; beds are made every 3rd day). When you check in you receive an A4 sheet with the different charges. Overall the service provided is correct but I didn’t see any warmth from the staff, and common hospitality is lacking. We loved Kyoto and we would return in a heartbeat, but we would choose a different hotel.

Great modern hotel
Super modern, clean and wonderful place! The staff was courteous too. A bit of a walk from activity areas, but not a big deal. Towards the end of the stay, we couldn't locate and return one of the key cards. I was surprised to see the persistence to reproduce the card. The staff decided to eventually let it go and told us they won't chart the Y1000 fee. This delayed our departure by a good 20 mins. Of the many hotels I've stayed at, hotels have never asked for a card back let alone all this fuss.

We loved this hotel!!
This hotel was perfect for a family for a week-long stay. Plenty of room to stretch, lovely staff, and a short bus ride to Kyoto station on the #50.
