Gevora 4 night experience
Old run down hotel in desperate need of renovation. Lifts take forever to arrive and when they do are often full as insufficient lifts to service the building properly. Check out a disaster, overcrowded and took an hour. Room service medicocre at best and over priced. Guest Services and House Keeping require multiple calls to get someone to pick up. Swimming pool overcrowded. Gym is tiny, run down/old equipment and dirty. Hotel looks classy on the outside but seriously lacks appeal on the inside.

The pool was nice. The staff was friendly. The location was close to perfect. However, there seems to be such an emphasis on world record-breaking that some basic amenities are non-existent. A refrigerator and a freezer, but no way to heat the food. A stove, but no cookware. No balcony or windows to crack open. Slow guest service. Agonizingly slow elevators. Grimy gym. Dirty shower in our room. Sink water that gets so hot it burns, even when the nozzle is not set to hot, but neutral...and it takes 30 minutes to finally cool back down. Whenever we asked for certain items to be replaced (eg. Shampoo) they would bring us body lotion instead. The numbers for the phone are entitely incorrect - you'll find the right ones on the TV, not where the phone is posted. If we ever go back, we'll almost certainly stay somewhere else. The hotel wasn't terrible, just a little disappointing, and I'm not even that picky.

The wait for the elevators was the most irritating part. The Corner Rooms are fine, but the level of Housekeeping and response time was extremely slow. Toilet was not clean at check in. I had brought in my counterpart from USA to stay in this hotel as well, as i was staying and he says that he is not coming back again.

I liked everything. Just the breakfast cud use some variety. I got the same stuff for 2 wks. The cleaners need better training as they did a speedy job and wud tell me to leave the room in an hr so they cud clean. I loved the pool and the rooftop restaurant. Gud prices. Cooking in my kitchen was not allowed yet there was a cooking range. A microwave is recommended. I wud love to come back to Gevora.
