A few mistakes amidst luxury
This is an exceptional hotel in the category of apartment hotels. The contemporary styling and ultra high tech equipment make staying here luxurious. With so many exquisite details, it seems petty to complain, but at the same time, with such attention to comfort, shouldn’t the hotel get the little things right? There are two lights by the beds that — unbelievably— cannot be turned off! Why?! It’s such an important and easy detail that this hotel has done wrong. Why can’t the lights be turned off at night for sleeping? We had to cover the lights with the decorative fabric strip from the bed. Also, in other apartment hotels, utensils were placed in a simple and inexpensive utensil basket but here they’re inconveniently jammed into the dish drain rack and stored under the kitchen sink. Very low class in contrast to the truly amazing facility that Yutaka otherwise provides. This hotel is exceptionally comfortable and is disappointing that it got the lighting all wrong and the small details wrong. Why waste such time installing expensive toilet controllers but ignore the basics, like a dark environment for sleeping?

Almost perfect
Outstanding facility with high tech touches. Spacious room and kitchen. Terrible light pollution with bedside lamps that never turn off. Small details needed: a utensil basket, a roll of paper towels or a dish cloth, and get rid of the cloth table cover that is stuck to the table with a sticky anti-skid mat. The cloth is impossible to clean off bread crumbs and other foods so it becomes very dirty immediately. Washing machine and the bathroom clothes hanger & dryer were indispensable for our stay! Brilliant modern design. This hotel is amazing. Outstanding. It just needs a few fixes to be perfect

Great stay, apartment style hotel with everything you need. No pool or gym but that was fine as we came to see the sights in Kyoto!

Outstanding service and property, "eh" area
First of all, let me emphasize: the service here was SUPERB. I don't expect anyone in Japan to speak English, but having an English-speaking staff was something I sought out when I could on this trip, especially since I am a single woman alone with only a few phrases of Japanese. Both staff with whom I interacted not only went above and beyond service-wise, they also spoke excellent English, which meant they were of great help to me. The apartment was in pristine condition. Very clear that it was new. I loved having the laundry and kitchen. The TV connects to Netflix, so that was great as well. And the bed was lovely, which is of utmost importance to me after long days of walking! The only slight issue I had was that the room didn't get quite cool enough for this chubby American, which was a minor sleep impediment. The bath was a dream. And, for Japan, it was really spacious. The only reason I wouldn't stay there again is the location. It is awesomely close to public transit, but the lines are not the most useful to standard tourists, like myself. If you're there for business or something else, that would probably be fine. I think someone described it as kind of in the suburbs and that feels right to me. All in all, a beautiful property with spacious and immaculate rooms, solid wifi, outstanding service, in an "eh" neighborhood.

Brilliant stay
We had a brilliant stay here- the room was super spacious, immaculate, beautifully styled and very quiet. We all had excellent sleeps here. Staff were really great and welcoming with excellent English. Location is fab, just across the road from a train stations 1-2 stops into Kyoto main station, with great eating options nearby (Hiro was brilliant, a delicious ramen place in Sanjo market and for breakfast/phenomenal coffee try Clamp Coffee a couple of blocks away). Proper supermarket nearby in Sanjo market if you’re prepping food yourself (we used it to stock up on veggies, fruit and snacks) and a convenience store right across the road. Would definitely stay here again.
