Buyer beware
Buyer beware! This one of the “newer” hotel selling itself as retro chic. When, in fact, the room was ultra cheap. Looks like a school project gone bad. Very tiny room with no space at all for luggage storage. Raw unfinished pine walls, old tile floor and a horrible wooden ironing board that I guess served as a table. They even had stacks of old books holding the bed up! This hotel also heavily markets a free mini bar. Which influenced my choice. However, understand that the free mini bar. Includes exactly one cheap beer, one bottle of non alcoholic beer and one cola. Oops, forgot the one bag of chips and a tiny chocolate bar. Asked the front desk if so could get another beer and they said sure. As long as I paid for it. A classic example of hype overshadowing hope…

A few blips
Overall we had a good stay but it could have been better. Unfortunately the hot water pump was broken during our stay which resulted in tepid water and no morning showers. We had a verbal apology when we complained but it would have been nice to have been given a complimentary drink or breakfast. Also our tea and coffee making tray was rather dirty and there was no coffee and only one teabag. When we asked for coffee they said it didn’t come with the room. This aspect could definitely do with a bit more love and attention. Overall the hotel is fun and funky. We had a large and extra large room which felt nice and big. We borrowed bikes from the hotel which was a great way to see the city. Although we had a couple of blips I would recommend the hotel.

I had a great stay (one night). Yannick and in particular his colleague who I think her name is Anna were fantastic with my Checkin request which wasn’t forgotten even though it was from a while back by email! The location is terrific. 10min walk one way to central station and 10min in the other to the old town. The rooms are a bit quirky as other reviewers and the pictures indicate…the decor for sure :) but also the layout. My bathroom was broken into 3 separate pieces for the 3 functions. But everything in the room is very functional and I liked the quirkiness. The bed and pillows were very comfortable which is key for me. The mini bar was free and it is of good quality. My only small complaint is that the safe was a bit too small. If I had my normal laptop it wouldn’t have fit, it was a struggle with the small 13in screen. And there is limited space to open up big luggage but that wasn’t an issue in my case. I would definitely stay again in this great hotel! Fantastic location, staff and room!
