Good location.
The premier king room is a bit small even for a single traveler. Feel smaller than a Hong Kong hotel room. But the location is very good and walking distance to Gion.

new and trendy hotel, good room size room with tatami floor very comfortable, but beddings not very comfortable and hotel not able to provide extra pillow Near to Gion, but 5-10mins walk from main shopping area I would prefer to stay near Nishiki Market area for my next visit

Great location, room okay, service pretty poor!
What looks like a nice, new hotel from the outside with a lot of pretty design features turned out - for us - to be rather poorly run. For instance, there is no one to help you with your luggage at the entrance, and you cannot bring in your bags without having to lug them a few steps up or down first. The reception desk seemed to be manned by part-time university staff that had not graduated yet - in other words, their English was good, but they were inexperienced and their manners not always coherent with a customer-first attitude. We had arrived at around 12pm from a long-haul overnight flight and asked if we could check-in early. They said that our room was not available yet and that we would have to wait until the official check-in time of 3pm. Further questioning revealed that they did, in fact, have rooms available at that time already, but that they were not willing to give one of those to us unless we paid the equivalent of half a day's rate. We declined and asked for the manager. That guy's English was very poor, and he repeated that we would have to pay to check-in a few hours early. Their argument was that it would be "unfair to other guests" if they let us check-in early free of charge. This is nonsense, but what can you do? Indeed, at 3pm we witnessed a long queue of guests lining up. It appears the staff and management still have a lot to learn here. The room was nice enough, even if there was no real space where to put our luggage. I would not stay here again.
