Twenty years ago I stayed at Anne Hathaway's (two owners ago) before moving to Ashland. I had good memories and so I made reservations for my cousin there recently. When she arrived, I toured the house again with her and also discussed her impressions. We were greeted with an envelope at check in. It was dark and did not feel welcoming. Breakfast is no longer served, only pastries. Richard's room (where my cousin stayed) is described proudly as having a private door to the garden. This is true but the "garden" is a concrete patio with little charm. My cousin described it as "like a hotel with no services".
