Getting there from Odawara station is challenging unless reserve a seat on their free shuttle

Great property friendly and helpful staff
We stayed at the Hakone Ashinoko Hanaori for one night visiting the Hakone area. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Communication with the hotel through Hotels.com messaging was great my questions and concerns were addressed very quickly. The location was a a big draw. The hotel shuttle was also a factor in selecting this hotel it is complimentary and gets you from the Odawara station directly to the hotel and back again after checkout. Please be sure to contact the hotel and make a reservation for both trips on the shuttle because seats can fill up fast. In my case the hotel went out of their way to make sure that we had seats on the return trip, great service in this regard much thanks to the staff! We had a room with half board (Breakfast and dinner) food was excellent at dinner. Breakfast was OK I wished fresh cooked eggs were available. The coffee quality varied from the automatic machines but it was a great meal none the less. Some things I would improve are, trimming of the bushes and trees overlooking the balcony of our room #2XX for a better view of the lake. The hotel room door opens inward to a small space making it awkward while bringing in luggage and the bathroom door opens towards you making it awkward a bit, a sliding door would work better. The hotel room its self is spacious. In closing I look forward to a future stay at this hotel beautiful views, great staff, comfortable bed, great food, super location making our trip the best it could be!

Our stay was short but absolutely amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the hotel. We had the Japanese-Western room with private bath and it was very comfortable for our family. The dinner and breakfast buffet exceeded our expectations and was quite delicious. The hotel provided us with yukatas to wear and we could enjoy the feel of a traditional ryokan but with modern amenities available. The public bath was also wonderful. Staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The scheduled free shuttle buses to the train station that was provided made it very convenient for us. We loved soaking our feet while taking in the beautiful view from the terrace, and felt very at peace and relaxed during our stay. Would highly recommend and cannot wait to be back again for a longer stay next time!

Soooo relaxing...
This was the third hotel on our Japan trip and our first outside of Tokyo... Wow. What an incredible place to stay and unwind after the hustle and bustle of Tokyo! Staff here were incredibly friendly and helpful(this will pop up a lot in my reviews of Japanese hotels) and the facilities were unbelievable, from the cleanliness and spaciousness of room, to the private bathtub on our balcony, to the various onsen and footbath options and the vast culinary options and customer service at the onsite restaurant...every aspect of the hotel was executed impeccably. Out of all the hotels we stayed at during our time in Japan, I think this experience is the one I'll remember the most. Staying here is a definite must and did I mention that it is situated 3 mins walk away from the Hakone ropeway and pirate ship cruise. Thoroughly recommend and will definitely revisit this hotel on our next trip to Hakone. Massive thanks to all the staff for making our stay so comfortable 👍

Great Anniversary Getaway
We celebrated our 30th anniversary here. Although we specified that we wanted a room with a lake view, we were given a room overlooking a gas station.😝 My husband was able to upgrade our room and we loved it! It was very spacious and we loved the open air private onsen which we used often. We never used the public onsen because it was always crowded with foreigners. We booked the private onsen for 45 minutes just to check it out. That was very nice It had all the amenities like the public onsen. Great for couples. Book in advance. We felt this location was in a good area close to transportation and attractions. Walking distance to Hakone Ropeway and Pirate Ship.
Private open air bath in our room.
View of Lake Ashi from the lobby.
Pirate Ship and Mt Fuji
