    Clean but basic

Clean and basic room. Beds were very comfortable. Wonderful view from the window. The only issue was that in the adjoining room with the single beds, the curtains were a foot shorter than the window and the pub sign with a light on it was right outside. Therefore the room was lit up really brightly all night. I would suggest blackout curtains be fitted. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Nothing actually wrong with the place, it’s a pub that offers rooms, the rooms are clean but very dated there was a kettle and some tea/coffee making facilities but the tv was tiny as was the shower, I know I’m a larger lady but I only just managed to get in. There was no signage to help say where to go to book in and the landlady didn’t actually tell me where to book out or where to leave my key. There’s no where to have breakfast and no option even to have a buffet type breakfast in your room. Overall it did the job after a long weekend working, I had a clean bed for the night before the long drive back home.

You get what you pay for

When checking in, no explanation of process of checking out and no-one was around the morning we left. Parking was very poor despite onsite parking, ended up parking on a main road in the dark. When I went to ask where to park was told just to block people in! The room was small, but well equipped, very clean and ensuite.

    Nice quirky stay

The building is deceptive - we expected our room to be quite small but it was a large room with a seperate room for the kids which was lovely ! The pub itself is really nice and it wasn’t noisy despite being above it . All in all I would recommend

Awful place - told no food - room so small you could touch both walls without moving - holes in walls and floors . No wifi ( rain related we were told,! ) An air con machine right outside the window that ran all night - no air con in room - an air freshener that sounded like a suffering cat every hour and a train that sounded like it was in the tiny bathroom . No soap for wash or shower toiletries. And they have the gall to charge for this - they need shutting down - immediately ! Our exit from the place was a metal fire escape that was very slippery from the rain .There was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the bar area too .

    Good value

Stayed here before a wedding in the local vacinity. Good price, friendly landlady, and absolutely perfect for my needs. Not a 5 star hotel by any means but did the job, good value.

    Cheap and Cheerful

It's a pub, so expect noisy customers till 11pm-ish. There are two doors on the main road - one sign reads no entry, the other door - no sign. After knocking consistently (doorbell appeared not to work), the landlady opened up and said the carpark and entrance was around the back. They could indicate this on the main road doors. The room was spacious, bed VERY soft. Door doesn't appear too secure. Windows don't close very well, very difficult to shut. Good amenities. Free parking.
