You owe it to yourself to try a ryokan once
Kyoto is pretty quiet. There are the bar and restaurant streets to check out at night but otherwise very quiet. If you plan right you can hit all the major temples and geisha streets in a day. The hotel is convenient from the bus station, pretty close to a subway station. If you're only staying a day or two definitely go for it. The traditional feel and style is really worth it! I'm 6'4 and aside from the really tight toilet everything else was okay. We were surprised how well we slept on tatami and futon actually. Plus for the price you save a little and can use the spare change to pick up a few more souvenirs. As others have said the walls are very thin. We had some loud Cantonese who wouldn't shut up until about midnight so it is a little luck of the draw but it wasn't a deal breaker... just take some earplugs and you'll be fine. Other guests wrote about the staff.. again it's a bit luck of the draw.. the lady who checked us in was very friendly.. others seemed okay. You do have to make your own bed and take care of yourself, there are some more responsibilities than other hotels (they have an instruction manual for everything you need to know that's handwritten.. it's really like b&b style.) I think it's nice in it's quaintness and simplicity though, it makes for an unforgettable experience and best of all AMAZING pictures you can use as bragging rights for years to come. Last, make sure to eat before coming back although there are some decent western restaurants around.

鍵がおもちゃで安心出来ず、寝れないし、お風呂にも入らなかった。 人が動くと床や壁が軋むことも辛かった。 にも関わらず6800円と高額だった。 別日で泊まった2100円の激安ホステルの方が全然設備はしっかりしており、安心できた。

昔ながらの京都の暮らし、家族の暮らしを懐かしむ、、、
京都の町屋を体験したい方には、とてもオススメです。空いて居れば、中庭に面したお部屋がええかと思います。一般の昔ながらの家を改築してはるから、物音はどうしても聞こえます。昔そういう家に住んでた頃を思い出し、家ってこんなんやったわ〜って懐かしくなりました。 いや、私は物音したら、寝られないし、不快ですゆう方は、やめておいたほうがいいタイプの宿です。

安価で和風レトロを楽しめる（ローム、アンダースローはしご観劇にオススメ）
ロームシアターに行くのならば徒歩圏内のこの宿はオススメ。アンダースローからバスで夜遅めの時間でも快適に戻れます（熊野神社前下車）。はしご観劇の方は是非。和風レトロな作りなので海外の方にもオススメです。通りから少し引っ込んでいるので宿内は静かです。ただ隣の人の音に神経質な方は厳しいかもしれません（でも耳栓をフロントで無料でいただけます）。フロントの深い側の小部屋から和風の中庭が見えて寒い間は炬燵とストーブがあります。ここでフリーのコーヒーやお茶をいただけます。持ち込みの食事もここでゆっくり食べれますよ。電子レンジもありました。WiFiもあるのでここでミーティングしたり、仕事をすることも可能。安価で色々ついていてお得だなと思いました。 周りには飲食のお店、お土産、ギャラリー、骨董品のお店などがちらほら。

모두 사용할 수 있는 공간도 예쁘고 방도 예뻐요. 이불도 폭신폭신하고 에어컨도 잘 되서 꿀잠 잤습니다. 호스트 분들도 모두 친절하세요 우동 먹으러 간다고 하니까 바로 추천해주신 맛집에서 정말 맛있는 인생우동도 먹고왔습니다. 헤이안 신궁도 바로 근처고 버스타고 야사카 신사, 청수사도 금방이에요
