The welcome from owners Ottie and Nikki was warm and full of offers to help and advise in any way. During our ten day stay, mainly to meet family nearby and deal with some issues following an untimely bereavement, our hosts were always kind and made us feel fully at home when we were at Penguino. Their staff were also warm and very efficient. And their dogs were lovely too!! Penguino is just off the amazing Hermanus cliff walk and is in easy walking distance of the town's plentiful shops and restaurants. It is a good base for both the town and the surrounding coast, beaches and nearby wine area.

Super welcome from Nikki and Stefan. Comfortable room, great breakfast and perfect for accessing the cliff-top path and the nearby town centre. We would definitely stay again when in Hermanus.

Great location, no sea views but a very short walk to the coastal path…fantastic views from this path and we saw a mother and baby whale just across the road from the guest house. It’s also an easy walk to town with plenty of restaurants. We stayed 2 nights in early October. Our room was at the back, upstairs and was huge and very comfortable. Steffan and Nikki were extremely helpful. The restaurant recommendations were perfect. They also rearranged a boat trip for us after one was cancelled due to the swell. They also rang ahead to our next activity to confirm times/location. The breakfasts were tremendous, we loved the porridge and the salmon omelette. There were 2 very friendly dogs which did try the swimming pool (we didn’t).

Very close walking distance to the magnificent cliff walk, restaurants and shops. Stefan and Nikki were lovely hosts, and Stefan makes a 5 star breakfast, delicious. Lounge area very comfortable and our twin bed room was quite basic but large and clean. There is also a pool/outdoor lounge area, but a bit cool to swim in April. We only stayed one night, but would have enjoyed more had we had time.
