Loved our stay, really relaxing. The room was great and we especially loved the onsen on the balcony with the mountain views. Breakfast was delicious and very generous! The staff were always so helpful but never imposing.

We enjoyed our stay at HAkone Airu. It is a once in a lifetime experience. The staff are friendly and the location is within walking distance from the Hakone Yumoto station although there is a steep hill to climb. We enjoyed the food though it may have been too fancy for our palettes to appreciate

    Most amazing hotel ever!
Most amazing experience and hotel, worth every penny! Attention to detail is perfect in every way, meal was to die for and room beyond breathtaking! Sitting in your own private onsen on your balcony overlooking the mountains is something special

Our stay was great! The view was excellent. We chose to not take the bus because it was a short walk but then realized it was all up hill. If you are travelling with luggage it would be better to take the bus. The service and the staff were amazing. The food was good but not to our liking. Might be better to choose the dinner and pay a bit extra in advance.

    Gorgeous romantic retreat
What a treat! This is a beautiful hotel with great amenities and a doting staff. It’s at the top of a hill but we walked with our backpacks no problem, I know there’s a shuttle or a short taxi ride if you have bigger luggage. Our favorite part was the dinners and our deck with private onsen! So nice- we could enjoy Hakone hot springs without being separated by gender or worrying about covering our many tattoos. What I liked about this hotel is that it’s perfect for romance- from the private dining rooms to the love seats in the bar, I got to spend so much quality time with my partner, rather than awkward small talk with other tourists. I’ll never forget our weekend in Hakone, or this hotel.
