Could be great but isn’t.
Room. 34 degrees no a/c -small window opens by 2 inchs -very very uncomfortable, like an oven, avoid ground floor in summer Loo seat broken. Breakfast. Example- toast served in cereal bowl and not toasted, small tea pot served with 5 tea bags in, - so strong undrinkable, Dinner. Example. Stale burger bun - rock hard, 5 green chips in one portion, Multiple Chipped cups Staff repeatedly say no worries guys. !

The Boathouse is the top place to stay in Chester.
Excellent location by the River Dee. Would highly recommend the Boathouse and the accommodation. The pub is vibrant with good food and atmosphere. Lovely breakfast too.

Good winter location.
Before booking here review the weather report. If it is going to be warm look elsewhere. The rooms have all been recently remodeled and there are a lot of good points - but air circulation is not one of them. With no air conditioning the fact that the rooms have only small windows, some with a full wall of glass facing a walkway, makes for stifling hot rooms. The room we were given had a tiny window blocked by heavy drapes requiring that the drapes be held back by furniture, thereby exposing our bed to the sidewalk outside. The fan we were given only circulated the hot air. We requested a different room and received a second floor room so we at least had privacy. Good lighting, comfortable bed, good wi-fi and excellent outlet arrangements would normally have made for a good stay. Breakfast was also very good. There was also free on-side parking.
