Maloka Boutique Hostel - Adults Only

The room was small, but clean and nice. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was yummy and filling. The building had great character and the rooftop terrace was a great place to watch the sunset. The location is great for getting to visit the old town.

Great place to stay if traveling alone. This was my first stay at a hostel.I rented a private room. Room was clean, linens too. The check in was quick, and the breakfast is tasty. The room included a flat screen tv and English speaking cable stations. Easy to find and close to a local supermarket in case you need to pick a few last minute toiletries. Cabs are available right outside the doorstep. You're only a few streets away from the main attractions. I would stay here again.

Very friendly and helpful front staff that spoke english which was great for my boyfriend and I. You keep a running tab on your room from the coffeeshop/ bar which was convenient.The bed was firm but comfortable. Small bathroom but okay for our short stay. Overall pleasant budget option in old walled town.

It was a small room but comfortable. Temperature very easy to control on shower, which led to a better shower experience here than other places we stayed during our trip in Colombia. A/C was great, instantly cooled off the room, which is a big plus in Cartagena. Location is good, but really anywhere you stay within the walled city should be a good location because it's a 10 minute walk anywhere. Breakfast was decent, which included eggs, toast, fruit, juice and coffee or tea. If you have an ensuite bathroom, bring your own shampoo and body soap as it isn't provided. Also, room 206 has two windows but one is part of the door and the other faces a wall so perhaps another room has better views. We didn't mind though and enjoyed our stay.

Maloka served us well during our stay in Cartagena. Quiet and peaceful. This isn't a party hostel. This hostel is for mature travelers. Within walking distance to everything within the walled city. English speaking staff at the front desk for those not fluent in Espanol. Maria is such a sweetheart. Our only issues were with the wifi. The connection was weak and inconsistent with connectivity. If you're using web based texting apps to communicate with people while abroad, a solid wifi connection is crucial. Just had to go old school at times. Not the worse thing. Other than that, we had a really nice stay.

The reception area was exceptionally good. I stay in hotels all the time but wanted to try a hostel. I met nice people and loved it.
