Leighton Townhouse - Bath
Great B&B in Bath
Great property with really nice owners. Know there is walking up hills when you stay here. Take the bus. Get a day pass.

Our stay in Bath
I was on a two week driving tour of England with my husband. Our stay in Bath was for two nights. We chose the Leighton Townhouse off of trip adviser and recommendation pages. I was not disappointed! It was my favorite place to stay on my whole trip. Leighton Townhouse is not in town, you have to walk a bit of a way to get to anything. I am sure that there was a bus that you could take, or you could drive into the city center and park, but we were not interested in getting into a vehicle after arriving. The walk into the center is wonderful and downhill. The walk back is a bit of a hike. Knowing that, just be prepared. Its not horrible, I just wish I had know it when I set out our first morning. Catherine, who checked us in and was at breakfast each morning was helpful and charming. Our room was room 10 and it was on the top floor of the home. It had a wonderful air conditioner, which was very much needed, as England is having a heat wave and it was very warm in town. The room was quiet and had a terrific little sitting area that I used to have my tea in the mornings. Breakfast was in a charming room that opened to the gardens. It was made to order and the bread was incredible. My favorite part of the home were the sitting areas in the gardens. My one and only complaint is the parking, which is in front of the home and is very small and the "spaces" are tight. Very tight. All in all, great stay in a great town.

One night in Bath
Very pleasant one night stay. The walk into town is very short but the hill is quite steep. We ended up taking taxis back from the town, but they weren't expensive.

Too challenging to reach
Too far from the city centre. You have to walk up a very steep road to reach this place. It was exhausting and will challenge anyone who is not extremely fit. In any way infirm or have health issues? Forget staying here. Unless you want to constantly order taxis. We found mould on the ceilings and on the walls in our room and bathroom. The staff were quite friendly. It was nicely decorated. But the location was just awful. I cannot recommend it for that reason.
