Great location. Sadly uncomfortable bed!

Nice, good value alternative to a hotel
Good value for money alternative to a hotel. Lovely small cottage for our small family - two bedrooms with one queen and two single beds. Nice, cosy bar in the main building but unfortunately we weren’t able to sample the restaurant, even for breakfast, so had to go out.

Lovely Place
Stayed in a lovely cottage that was so much nicer than expected. Set in beautiful gardens. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay again.

Spiders.
There was a lot of spiders out in the open when we arrived. On the walls, headboards, roof and beds.

Stop over before cross over
Short walk to the high street, and easy to get in and out of town toward the ferry.

Great location for touring Canterbury
My family and I stayed here for 3 nights in April 2019. It was a great choice. The cottage was roomy enough for us to relax in, the beds were comfortable, noise was non-existent (except for some birds chirping in the morning which we found charming), heating was fine and the kitchen worked great for us. The cottage was within easy walking distance of 2 grocery stores and the town center. The only improvement to our stay may have been the hot tubs. The first night they were a bit below the regular temperature ( about 30C) and had a bit of leaves an$ dirt in the bottom (but it is located outside). We reset the temperature and had a bit of a soak. Night 2 was good as the tubs were hot and we enjoyed a soak after our day trekking the Dover cliffs. The third night we were looking forward to the hot tub again but when we arrived at at 6pm, the tub was filled to the brim and cold (24C), the garden hose nearby was use during to fill the tub. Needless to say, we couldn’t heat the tub in time. A small point, but a feature that is included, one that we looked forward to greatly and one that we were unable to fully enjoy. Besides this, a great stay.

Great clean rooms, good location
The room was great and clean, very large living space. Only downside was the noise from breakfast upstairs in the early morning. Overall great hotel to stay in.

Graduation stay
We tried to book the hotel for daughter’s graduation but it was full. We managed to book an apartment and were very pleased we did. We stayed in and cooked a meal (well provided for kitchen) and relaxed followed by drinks in the hotel. The following morning we strolled into Canterbury (an easy walk) for the graduation. We were able to leave the car all day. Excellent position and accommodation.

Good 6.0
Compact
These cottages are worth considering for families and smaller groups. They sleep four reasonably easily (one double, one twin) with the option of a pull out sofa bed for larger numbers. The ‘cottage’ was clean and looked like it had been recently redecorated. There were some limitations however, the surrounding area is wooded and the cottage (cottage 4) received very little light. For that reason it was chilly. Electric heaters sorted that without too much of an issue, but we did struggle with the damp. There was no ventilation in the bathroom as the extractor did not work (neither did the light to the bathroom despite mentioning it on three different occasions). All that moisture had to go somewhere! My other criticism was the amount of storage. Both bedrooms had a built in wardrobe but only ten hangers were available throughout the cottage for the four of us. Draw space is none existent (the chest of draws were no more than decorative) and with no where in the bedrooms to leave a suitcase where clothes were accessible, it meant that things felt rather cramped.
