Centrally located traditional Japanese lodging
The house was in a quiet neighborhood even though it was in the center of the city's main transportation hub. We were only a few blocks from the train station and a major bus terminus. The house was traditional Japanese style, with futons and thick duvets. The kitchen was a bit cramped but well-equipped. The bathtub was nice and deep, and we could control the temperature of the water--perfect for a good long soak. The bedroom was huge, on the second floor, reached by narrow, steep steps.

Great house for a family with kids
The house was great for a family of four especially we have two infants. They allowed us to use an extra futon for the twins and the futons seemed new and very comfortable. The house was smaller but I guess it's a decent size for a house near Kyoto Station. Also, it was a Machiya stay but newly renovated which was a great experience for my Canadian husband. We only stayed here for a night but I wished I knew this place before so that we could have stayed longer here when we went sightseeing in Kyoto a few weeks ago.
