Staff at front desk not the most welcoming, but room was a nice refuge, breakfast no frills and location great for the price near La Calendaria a 10 minute walk to bars, restaurants without being right in the center of things.

OK Hotel
Rooms are small and bathrooms have no ventilation and thus mold is present on parts of wall and ceiling. The wifi works well and the shower always had hot water and strong stream. The mini-fridge, continental breakfast, and spa services ($17 for 1 hr massage) are a plus. The staff was friendly and always willing to go beyond to make sure that guests were having a great stay. The staff is what makes this place great, otherwise this place would not be worth the stay. Definitely worth staying here for 2-3 nights to explore the local area, but no longer than that. After 2-3 nights you will want better amenities than what this hotel can offer. The true value of a night here is around $30-35/night.

Great for a quiet chilled one - spa was a bonus
I had a nice stay at Montserrat. I decided to stay in a hotel after 3 months of hostels in South America, and for the cheap price I paid this place ticked boxes for me. I had a comfy double bed and made the most of the jacuzzi and herbal steam rooms which are included in the price. The neighbourhood isn't great but the hotel is right next to the mountain, where you can get some great views of the city, and taxis are cheap to get anywhere in Bogota.
