Nice design, but needs improvement
Pros: location is close to bar, restaurants and touristic attractions; breakfast was good; hotel design is nice. Cons: stains in the bathroom; old and torn towels; gym and swimming pool are closed for maintenance.

Jewel in KL
Extremely good location, nice hotel. Small gym, tiny pool for relaxation rather than to actually swim. Nice little hotel in the heart of KL

I have been a fan of KL Journal hotel since the first time I stepped my foot into this hotel in August 2016. This year August, I stayed at the hotel again and again, in September. For the fourth time, I stayed in this hotel in November. I'll be coming to KL in January 2018 but this time round, I feel skeptical about setting my foot again in this hotel. I had a great experience, a wonderful stay on my first and second stay in the hotel. The third one, was just alright, somewhat satisfied. Sadly, the fourth stay that was in November, was a disappointment. Checking in and out was just unfriendly. I'm pretty sure through the hotel reservation, the hotel is able to identify if the guest is a frequent guest. Even if I am not a frequent guest, I feel that the hotel's warm friendly service is depleting. Even when I return to the hotel from shopping, dinner etc, there was no greeting from the staff standing at the door or even from the frontline staffs who were chatting casually and using their phones. There was a night when I came late from supper and shopping and forgot to bring a room key/card. A friend who was in the room was soundly asleep thus did not hear my phone calls to her to fetch me at the lobby. When I approached the staff at the frontline to seek assistance, a male staff reluctantly told his colleague to send me up "as I forgot to bring my key/card". Upon check out, I had to remind staff of the SGD200 deposit which I submitted at check-in. There were no "How was your st
