Hôtel Bristol - Montreux
Not as advertised
The view was amazingly beautiful, but that doesn't seem to be a rarity in Montreux. During our stay the pool was closed (we were not informed of this until we went down there and found out). Our "superior double room" was a basic twin room with the beds pushed together. Everything else in the room basically worked but was below expectations. Service was polite, but reluctant, and unable to handle complaints. They treated our complaint about the pool and lack of a double bed as our problem, both delegating to an apparently non-existent manager (no response to our email), and saying the problem was we booked via Well of course that should be the hotel's problem, not ours. The restaurant is closed on Mon-Tues evenings, we didn't miss it but bear that in mind. Do get a free Riviera card when staying in Montreux, it's worth a lot (this hotel provided them, but of course only after we asked on day 2).

A Charming Hotel on Lake Geneva
Hotel Bristol is an older but charming place on the Switzerland Riviera. At the bountiful breakfast each morning, we enjoyed a beautiful view of Lake Geneva. There is a bus stop within steps of the hotel, making local travel convenient. Get a Riviera pass from the hotel which gives you free bus rides and discounts on museums. The staff was very friendly.

Hotel Bristol - A Convenient Hotel
Hotel Bristol was a convenient place to stay with the bus stop directly across from the entrance. It was only about 5 minutes from the train station by bus. I wish I'd known to take the bus instead of a taxi and save the money. (It's the stop right after Teritet.) I also didn't know the Bristol is a retirement home for seniors with a staff on hand to help them. However, this doesn't change my review. I had everything I needed and wanted, including a large breakfast. Montreux was great and our stay at the Bristol was perfect.

No blinds in the window so you are force to wake up at sun rise, sheets are very cheap. Also this is a hotel/residence for seniors.

A nice hotel
Nice hotel but room was very noisy. Avoid "City view rooms" as they overlook a busy road. Otherwise the hotel is nicely situated and service was friendly.
