The location of the hotel was close to the beach and shopping area as such convenient to move around easily. The only thing which was lacking was we were in a family room replenishment of toilet paper and tissue was not done.

Walking distance to Cenang beach. The room is bigger than usual hotel. No breakfast included. Free parking at the back of hotel. If your room is facing the sea, the view is stunning. Affordable price.

Hotel was super accessible, the staff were friendly, helpful and honest. They told us that they no longer did airport transfer as grab is available and it’s cheaper. The hotel is right in the middle and there’s plenty of things to eat, and if you want to book some tours, there are several tour agencies around. Plenty of shops as well and it’s walking distance to chenang beach and mall. The hotel amenities are as listed, no surprises and we had a pleasant stay!

We have the sea view and it was really nice. The best part of the hotel was the restaurant at the rooftop. But the breakfast is not as nice.

Entrance of the hotel is not good and smelly always, hotel is at convenient place and approachable to shops and food outlets.

My sisters and I just returned from Langkawi on Sunday. Stayed 3 nights at The Royal Agate Hotel. It is timely for the hotel to do some renovation work as it is quite run down The much talked about roof top is worth a visit before the sunset for the view. Otherwise, there is nothing much. Food served are fair, price reasonable. Morning breakfast buffet can do with some improvement as the spreads are not what you would expect from a buffet. The location of the hotel is quite central with shops and eateries along both sides of the road. Prices are not very cheap though.The only form of transport is by taxi. They charge around MR30 to MR50 and MR25 for airport transfer. The weather was hotter than expected. If you are not a beach or sea lover, this place is not recommended for you. There are a few simple attractions you can visit but do not expect too much. The cable car and the skybridge are nothing to wow about.Expect to wait at least 30mins for the sky glide to take you to the sky bridge otherwise you can do some trekking. The sunset cruise is a dissappointment and quite boring. The BBQ food served is sub standard. We paid MR240 per pax inclusive of hotel pickup and back.We are not likely to visit Langkawi again. It is not worth the money spent (as it is quite an expensive place compared to nearby places) The airport is also lacking in terms of facilities for the elderly. Queues are long so if you do not wish to miss your flight, please be there ar least 2 to 3 hours ahead.
