Small property with dining on the premises. Beautiful area to walk in. Everyone was super friendly. Loved the coffee in the alcove! Great place outdoors to sip your morning coffee, have lunch or dinner.

Terrific place! Comfortable and clean. Furniture and decorations matched historic times period. Disappointed Tap Room was under renovations. Other than that, terrific night’s stay.

    HMMMM

It seems as if staff really didn't care about our stay, They didn't clean the rooms (during a 3 night stay). They never ever refreshed the coffee area (very cold for this time of the year). They just didn't care.

I really want to like this place. It is a lovely historic inn on the village common in a quintessentially New England town. There is a very cool bar where all the locals seem to hang out. The staff were friendly and pleasant. But... I was there for four days before anyone cleaned the room or emptied the trash or offered fresh towels. And even then the toilet was not cleaned. (It actually looked like someone used it and did not flush!) It was also on that day that an information card about wifi appeared in my room. There is a coffee station in the hallway outside the rooms with a Keurig coffee maker — a nice touch, as the Inn does not serve breakfast. But during my stay, all the clean coffee mugs disappeared and were never replaced. The machine ran out of water, so some days there was no coffee. There was no creamer the last two days I was there. The trash can next to the station remained overflowing for days at a time. I just got the feeling no one ever came up to the third floor to make sure everything — rooms, hallway, coffee — were okay. The wifi never worked. I had friends staying in a room across the hall, and they had the same experience. Since the Inn (which has a full kitchen) does not provide breakfast, they post a sign at the coffee station recommending a local deli, where we could get a discount. I walked there the first morning and was told, “This is really a bad time. We’re very busy.” I don’t think I will stay here again.

I loved being able to access my room without having to walk pass the check in area. Very quiet and clean. Easy parking. The Hunters Grille and Tap is so convenient and casual.

    Disappointed to say the least

I really wanted to love this place. It is extremely quaint with just the perfect mix of New England charm. They also have a tavern on site with outdoor seating which makes it very convenient. The ambiance was exactly what you would want staying at an old New England inn. Unfortunately customer service was sub par...we were originally put in a dirty room (which was a very nice room) then put into a much smaller room with one small lamp as a light, no hairdryer, and only one outlet which held a phone charger which was in the bathroom. Also we only received one set of towels when they knew there were two people staying. I mean, at least the room was clean. We went to the front desk to ask for a hairdryer and staff members did not come in until 11am. Once we returned to the Inn after a day out and about, we were told that they “didn’t owe us a hairdryer”...pleasant huh? After putting us in a dirty room (which had a hairdryer) that was how we were treated. Again, I really wanted to like this place and book future reservations there, probably not going to happen though.

Room 9 overlooks park. could have used another lamp over by reading chair. Bathroom needed to replace burned out bulb on 2 bulb light and sink needs to extend counter 3-4 inches so toiletries don't fall between cabinet and wall where they are unreachable.
