    Profile: Myeongdong

    Profile: Myeongdong

Myeongdong is a vibrant shopping district situated southwest of the City Hall in Jung. It’s one of the most visited areas in Seoul, and is a great spot to shop for upmarket brands or catch a fashion show in the spring or summer. This is a place where people come to see and be seen, and it’s a great spot to people-watch over some ox-bone soup or oyster pancakes.

The Gothic Myeongdong Cathedral is a stunning building that dates from 1894, and provides a tranquil place for reflection, while the bustling Namdaemun Market is the largest traditional market in Seoul.

      Think twice before booking

Room temperature cannot be controlled. Super shivering cold, need to even wear a sweater and jacket to sleep. Toilet is tiny, hardly can turn around. Sink and shower is attached obviously to save space. Will not return. Location was perfect for shoppers at Myeongdong though. A part of the room does not have blinds near the toilet and outside can view in if you're changing clothes....a big no no !!

Close to Myeongdong shopping area and train station. Stayed there during winter. The big windows are abit drafty, makes that side of the bed cold. The individual heating is way better than the hotel just few steps away. Bed is comfy, only weird thing is you are showering in the toilet just in front of the sink. It’s inside a very old building but the hostel levels is very new. Has no kettle but hot cold dispenser down the corridor and washing machine is a plus too! Free breakfast too.

Booked deluxe double room for myself. Good for solo traveling for the weekend however the bathroom/shower is so tiny. It’s a meter spaced. Beside that was good, nice location. I’d get bigger room next time.

Nice Place, Great Staff, Better Kitchen Please

Nice hotel in a great local. The staff were kind and attentive. There was a troubling aspect to my stay, however. The common area saw breakfast served with guests tasked with cleaning their dishes. I noticed several guests not using soap and only giving their cups, dishes, and utensils a cursory rinse under the water. NO SOAP! The staff then told me that no further cleaning/disinfecting was done. THIS IS VERY TROUBLING DURING A HEALTH CRISIS. Anyway, I made sure to wish my cup beforehand after that.

Lovely hotel in a great location. It had an amazing view from the rooftop and the free breakfast was great. My only issue was that the bed was quite hard so it was uncomfortable, and the room was quite cold with no way to make it warmer.

Great value for money and close to everything.

A cosy little room but you are not in the room often only to sleep. View was pretty cool. Breakfast was great. staff were friendly and it’s so close to Myeongdong shopping street. They were doing renovations but that didn’t deter from our enjoyment. Bathroom was tiny but the shower was good. For the price I would say it’s great value for money.

My stay here overall was pretty good for the price I paid. It is in a great location. A couple minutes walk from Exit 5 at Myeongdong Station, Myeongdong Night Market, and shops/restaurants. The staff were nice, helpful, and spoke English. Breakfast is included and the options each day were great. The room was decently sized and had two sources of heat: one over head and one large space heater. Not

Location is brillant. Just off the busy myedongong street . Very near to bus stand for limo bus to the airport. The staff can speak english and they do almost every thing. The dinning area is open at all hours and we could have free coffee and tea, use their crockery for our take away, subject to us washing up of course. The only thing I could not get use to is the tiny bathroom. Its even smaller than the bathrooms in Japan. The door is literally at my knees when I sit on the toilet and I am 5 foot 5". But other than that everything is fine.
