A good mix of historic and modern
Good customer service is ALWAYS in style and that’s the first thing you get here. Pull up out front and take advantage of the complimentary valet service. And I don’t think I’ve ever had a faster, smoother check in. Less than 3 minutes from pulling up to getting on the elevator. The building is over 120 years old, and you can tell. However, our room was fine - king bed was comfy, big, thick towels, a K-cup coffee maker. It was a nice and quiet night. They also offer a complimentary breakfast, complete with made-to-order omelets. Overall, a very nice stay. Oh, and did I mention that I checked in in the middle of a snow storm? And they didn’t miss a beat. My only complaint is that they didn’t have Captain Morgan in the bar. One of the most popular spirits in the US. Can’t imagine why, but that’s an easy fix.

Bad water
There was a water ban in the city and we were not supposed to use the water to wash our hands or anything. The hotel gave us bottles of water to drink, but said nothing about not using the water to bathe or wash hands. After I had taken a shower, I heard on the local TV news that we were not supposed to use the water. Later, I noticed that in the public restrooms in the hotel, they had blocked off the sinks and put out hand sanitizer, but nothing ever said about using it in your room.
