Lovely hotel, terrible bed.
Lovey hotel, good location for centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the mattress was very uncomfortable I could feel the springs sticking out and pillows terrible. I’m not that fussy but it wasn’t great. Also room was way too hot- even with the window open.

Perfect stay for me.
This was the perfect choice for us after completing the 3 peaks challenge, we were dropped off at the train station 5 minute walk away at 10am and understandable not being allowed to check in until 3pm we were allowed to make use of the Spa facilities which was a treat for our tired bodies. The room and bathroom were comfortable for my needs though being a solo traveller I randomly had a family room with king size and two singles. The staff were really nice throughout the hotel, spa and bar area, and when checking in was told the breakfast times but I had an early train I had to catch offered to make me up something which was nice. Location is great to get around and see the beautiful city. The two negatives things that stand out for me was the jacuzzi whilst hot didn’t pump bubbles, minor I know and I was awoken 25 minutes earlier than my alarm as the room above we walking about and the floor creaking but didn’t take away from my overall stay.

Disappointing, expected better
The hotel from outside looks really nice, and also reception was ok. Checking in was very slow. We were given our room (537), very disappointing, very old fashioned furniture and a manky ( i think) single bed to one side. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well, breakfast was also good but for the price, very disappointed.

Early autumn visit 2023
We had a lovely time, first time in Chester lovely city . The hotel was brilliant, but as with everything when it’s good you nit pick . Whilst comfortable for us the bed was rather hard. The restaurant was good we ate in two nights out of our four , and had breakfast everyday (diet now order of day). We did feel though some continental options would have been nice, and finally the sucrose option instead of sugar at the tables was rock hard 😫😫 In saying everything above we had a lovely time, the hotel was great the food and staff were superb and we would recommend to friends and relatives and will definitely be coming to stay again in the future
