Bad customer service
Place looks nice and rooms are also cute (we saw them through the window). Place was closed after 10pm when we arrived. The note on the door said WE had to contact the place to let them know we arrive after 10pm.
I do understand it's a small/family business, but normally in this case front desk can make 1 min for a courtesy call to reconfirm when guest are arriving. It's a hotel with dozen rooms, what do they do the whole day, I don't know.
Another way around, some small hotels leave keys hidden and tell guests where to find them.
Some hotels have digital locks, guest only need a code.
There are numerous ways to keep guest happy.
Owner of Shamrock motel chose the worst way - leave us without accommodation for night and tell us it's our fault. Very disappointed
