The hotel is in a remodeled colonial building over 4 floors. The room we got (a family of 3 adults, 1 child, with luggage) was so small that we had to take turns walking between beds and sitting on them. The furniture, however, was modern, the beds were comfortable, and the A/C was ice cold. No hot water in the shower. Had to park our rental car on the street -- no dedicated lot. Convenient to the Colonial Zone, but the main attractions (e.g., Plaza de Espana, Fortaleza Ozama, Calle las Damas) are about a 20 minute walk or a short drive away. A breathtaking view from the rooftop to the Caribbean Sea on one side and the colonial city on the other. But the best part was a truly amazing local cuisine breakfast from the Dominican restaurant in the same building (lots of local fruit, fresh-squeezed juices, great coffee, eggs, meats, pancakes, jams, plantains, you name it!).

    Good value Hotel
This was our Second stay. We booked the Jr. Suite months in advance. We got the smaller suite which is narrower than the other. The bed was comfortable. Only one person can sit at the table due to tight space.. Our first night the toilet was clogged. It was unclogged in the morning. Shower was clogged and like a mini pool. However, a staff member did come open the drain and pull out almost half a plastic bag of gunk. Ran out of toilet paper and had to walk downstairs to ask for more. The shower did have hot water. It had a mini fridge and kitchenette, which is helpful but we had to buy matches, dish soap, sponge. They did not replenish bathroom soap but we bought our own. On Day 4 there was no water for a couple of hours. A water truck delivered water to the Hotel but the pressure wasn't the same The area is walking distance to the Colonial Zone and you can also walk along the ocean Road. The area is Working Class & there are many little shops. I felt safe walking around the area, On Friday & Saturday there is loud music, party atmosphere in the streets. The pool and jacuzzi looked clean and inviting but we didn't have time to use them.. The staff are friendly and do try to be helpful. Overall it could be a nice Hotel if they have a regular maintenance plan and not wait for guests to point out issues. It is overall clean. We will stay again.
