4/10 Fair
18 September 2023
No AC=Very Loud
I'll start with the positive: it's in a fantastic location that offers easy access to all that the north shore of Kauai has to offer. It's a 10min drive to Hanalei and only about 20mins to the Kilauea Lighthouse. The staff is friendly and the price was cheap relative to many of the other resorts on the north shore (which in retrospect should have been a red flag.)
The negatives, however, outweigh the positives. Because there is no air conditioning (something that isn't exactly placed prominently in their listings), you MUST sleep with the screen doors and windows open for the room to be cool enough to sleep at night.
Because everyone has their windows and doors open, everyone can hear everything from the units around them- dishes clanking, babies crying, etc. etc. When coupled with the numerous roosters crowing at literally all hours from 2am onward, it doesn't make for a particularly restful experience- good luck sleeping past 7am.
I would spend my money elsewhere the next time.
