Probably the next hotel in Times Square
Great choice for a hotel at the Times Square area. Historical building, newly refurbished (luxury) interior of the modern minimalist bent. And it is of course near to everywhere, being right next to Times Square. Great roof top bar too!

It was great. Only thing is the shampoo and conditioner and shower gel bottles were too stiff. Shampoo, shower gel wouldn’t come out of the bottle.

Paying for location, could stay next door for less
It was a hit and miss at the Knickerbocker and for over $600 per night it did not reach my expectations at all. We hoped to watch the ball drop in comfort and we were all bunched up by NYPD and the hotel staff did nothing to acomódate nor were they outside assisting. The mattress was comfortable and the bathroom is very nice. Other than that, it wasn’t memorable. For the same price you can stay at the Marquis or Double tree actually in the heart of Time Square. Yes the people were mostly friendly (Chester was outstanding), but in general out of my scale of 1-10, I give it a 6. I definitely wouldn’t stay there again unless something drastically changed. As a matter of fact we’re returning for Valentines and already booked at Hilton Garden right next door. The build exterior is beautiful and maybe if they would have stayed vintage vs European modern in rooms, then I think there would have been a historial piece to the stay. Other than that it was a rather large disappointment in compared to what I expected. And by the way, the carpets look like they haven’t been cleaned in years and the foot traffic is very noticeable. Please do your research on location and local hotels first before jumping at the Kinickerbocker hotel. And many other guests had similar opinions of the overall condition of the hotel for the price per night.
