Great Stay!
Good location on the edge of the old quarter, where it is not so crowded nor polluted. Still walking distance to all the small streets of the old quarter. Nice that it is a stone's throw from the lake.

Fantastic boutique hotel in a great location
The hotel is very nicely furnished and large for Vietnamese standard. Staff are polite and helpful with quite a good command of English. Room is spacious and well decorated with the full complements of the toiletries which are stocked daily. There is a rooftop pool and a library. The library is essentially a lounge with limited stock of books. But there are PCs hooked up with printers for web check-in and printing boarding passes. The hotel overlooks the Hoan Kiem Lake which is the heart of Hanoi. Most attractions are within 30mins walk. There are tons of eateries right outside the hotel ranging from cheap street food to restaurants. Travel agencies abound in the vicinity offering trips to Halong Bay and surrounds. Strangely there is a Playboy club situated right at the basement of the premises with bunny girls standing outside at night. But there was no noise disturbance at all and the nights are quiet for a good rest. Highly recommended.

Not a 5 Star Hotel, Lacking Service!
I was traveling with my three children without my husband. I had purchased a suite with kitchenette to accommodate my family, arriving at 1245am. They required me to buy an additional room. They gave me a room three floors down which we obviously weren't going to use. The manager of the hotel was extremely rude. I got to my room at 1am with 3 tired children. The air conditioning didn't work. The room was 84 degrees inside. The manager told me it would work eventually. I called downstairs to have them look at the air conditioning again. The manager and maintenance man came to the room. The manager was very unkind and said "see it works!" Then they decided they needed to bring a ladder in to take a look. After having to pay $600 for two rooms, I requested a new room immediately so my children could go to sleep. When we showed up at breakfast at 930am after getting to sleep after 230am, we were told we had 15 minutes to eat. The breakfast buffet runs until 10am. They were rushing us to finish up. This hotel is not a 5 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. I have never written a bad review. Our family lives in Singapore and travels 75% of the year. This was the first horrible experience in a year and half. I heard from my people at other excellent properties that service is the major complaint of Apricot. If you are used to Aman Resorts, Mandarin Oriental, Four Seasons, Peninsula, etc, do not stay here. The service horrendous.

Great stay. Great view. Great location.
Price is a bit steep. But overall a great stay at apricot. The location is perfect. About 5 minutes walk to the night market and lake is just across the hotel. The view from the rooftop, i believe, is the best view of the lake amongst all of the rooftop view we went to. Too bad the pool isnt overviewing the lake as well. It wouldve been magnificent. We had room service. The pho and chicken wings were delicious. Would definitely come back again
