Fair
The staff was very rude at check in. The parking lot is safe, but very small, and tight. It was hard to manuver with a pick up truck. The room was clean, and spacious, but the beds were horribly uncomfortable. The breakfast is nothing special.

Do not stay
Room was dirty, there was blood on the toilet seat. Climate control didn’t work - our options were either sweltering or having the heater turned off. Shuttle service only runs 4x per day, with no times that would get us to our show on time, so that is not a very useful service. Beds were hard, covers were thin and not warm enough. We were really disappointed with our stay.

Great place for families, great value
Great place for families. The suite is comfortable and plenty of space. Good location. Shuttle was nice (would be great if it ran more frequently). Breakfast was good - had eggs/sausages, fresh waffles, and cereal/bagels/muffins.

Close to the hospital (UCMC)
Selected because of proximity to University of Chicago Medical Center. Fairly safe area for Chicago (I think), but most parking is in poorly lit outdoor spots by the rooms, typical for most hotels in the area. Some limited parking in lighted garage. When I asked about safety of parking and explained my reason for staying, and that the car was packed for a week's hospital stay (making it a prime smash-and-grab target) the receptionist made a point of getting our car into the lighted garage for the night.
