I usually don't stay in a bed and breakfast when I go to a business meeting but I convinced my wife to tag along. Mel, our innkeeper, was as friendly and gracious as one could want. He was full of Chicago trivia and suggestions on where to eat and what to do. He made great breakfasts. He turned us on to Chicago waffles. He renovated a turn of the century classic home into a charming tribute to our African American heritage. We stayed in the Nat King Cole suite & sweet it was! Almost the entire second floor of the house with a king bed in one room and a modern shower and a jacuzzi in the "sitting room". My only regret was having to leave early for my meetings and missing some of his breakfasts. Very convenient to the convention center but with Chicago traffic, about a 25 minute drive to the magnificent mile.

I have never stayed at a B&B for business travel, but I will do it again. Welcome Inn Manor has a warm and welcoming atmosphere and Mel (the innkeeper) makes everyone feel like family. It was an awesome switch from a standard business class hotel. The little extras, like being driven door to door at my client's office, were quite nice, and Mel's breakfast was 5 star every morning. The area is "up and coming", but I felt very safe at the house and will go back when travel plans allow.

This B&B is truly special! My son and I stayed here to do some college visits and it was our first time maneuvering Chicago. The caring and funny innkeeper ((Mell) hooked us up with advice on travel, food, and anything we needed. He gave us a lot of rides which saved me a lot of stress and money! The house is very clean and decorated so beautifully! Our breakfast meals were all unique, delicious and filling. We enjoyed our stay very much!

The Welcome Manor Inn is a wonderful place to stay outside of the downtown of Chicago. Only an $8 uber ride into the city! We stayed in the Nat King Cole suite which was quite the treat. It's almost like having two rooms and the bathroom is so big it has its own seating are. Mel and Angie are great hosts and made us feel at home. I was not feeling well one day and Mel sent breakfast up to the room for me as I could not join the other guests at breakfast. I highly recommend staying at Welcome Manor Inn.
