Great stay; a little dated
Pretty good location at the end of the Hakone-yumoto area. Check-in was quick and easy and the staff was very friendly. We have tattoos so the public onsen was a no-go but we got a room with a private onsen. The hotel is pretty but seems pretty dated. The room was nice but also dated. The onsen was gorgeous and relaxing minus some of the bugs and such. The sound of the rushing water from the river was relaxing and definitely made it easier to imagine being in a far off and isolated area. The dinner was great and had a variety of seasonal dishes. The provided sake was sweet and chilled. The ramen restaurant inside the hotel was also nice and had a very small restaurant feel. The staff there was friendly and accommodating. I love this area so I might stay here again

8/10 Very good

Long history of the facility, the surrounding is breath taking with the sound of river running outside the room I stayed in was bright and spacious. The Japanese style dinner and breakfast choosen was delicious. However keep in mine due to the age of the property cleanliness in certain area are missed. The toilet room is an older type and it has a strong funky smell, not the sulphuric acid from the area...

relaxing trip to Hakone
We stayed for just one night but it was a very relaxing visit. Outstanding hospitality, great food - very accommodating of a vegetarian in our party. Lovely onsen and room. The hotel could do with a bit of an update but overall it was very charming and I’d happily return to visit again.
