Royalton Park Avenue - New York

The hotel was in a great location. It was close to a subway stop, and a bunch of places to eat. The staff was very polite, and helpful when we asked questions. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My only (slight) negative was that the last night we were there, we could hear music coming from the rooftop bar. We were 3 floors below the roof, so I can only imagine how much louder it would have been for anyone else on a floor closer to the roof. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone else visiting New York.

Nice big room for my family. Very comfortable. Room service is lacking enough choices and no real restaurant on site but cute places nearby.

Beautiful property at great location. Great room layouts and amenities. Only issue we had,after having changed rooms twice, is that Cleaning staff is not doing their job, mold on showers, and dust on drapes which is out of keeping with otherwise excellent property

I really like the Royalton -- big rooms, everything modern and clean. Many friendly and courteous staff members. But for this last stay, I had reserved rooms for 3 colleagues and me. I'd intended to prepay but accidentally booked the 'pay at hotel' option, so all of us were required to put down a card upon arrival. All good -- except one colleague had an extra $1300 'hold' put on his card. Was it a coincidence that he was the only African American man, while the rest of us were white women? Boy, I hope so. At first, the hotel would not remove the charge and the woman at the front desk got pretty shirty with my colleagues when they asked her to. The next night, we were able to get all charges transferred to my card, and the extra charge removed. We appreciated that and the courtesy Cherry showed us as she made the changes. But we couldn't help but feel unsettled by the experience.

It is a great property. The rooftop bar and pool are really nice.
