    Disappointing

When I arrived i was ignored by a member of staff who made a phone call rather than offering help. When i was given my room there were no instructions for the wifi, the bedside light di not work and nor did the TV. I went and asked for help and was promised it but no one came. After an hour I went back to reception to be told that the staff had gone home. The night port was there and he was charming and helpful - made the light work, actually switched my room and brought another TV which did work. He had to search for the wifi password but found it. The room was quite chilly. On the plus side the breakfasts were excellent and the staff there very pleasant and helpful. Could I suggest a sheet in each room with the wifi password, and an indication as to how the room could be made warmer and therefore more comfortable. Also better instructions as to where breakfast was. The only instructions I could find in the room were the charges for Laudry! The hotel is in a lovely situation and has so much potential but was tired.

Hotel is tired, room in need of a overall miss matched furniture. Poor night’s sleep due to buzzing from air conditioning unit outside room. Food at weddings was lovely although portion size was small. Breakfast fine

    Hmmm

185 for 1 nights stay, with breakfast included. The room just wasn't worth that. Double bed, No room service, i had to fix the TV myself. Theres nothing to make that room worth that price. It was a clean room though. Ok for a standard nights stay but not for the price.

    Shocking

This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We booked a full suite for 2 nights. The room they allocated was not a suite but a small room in the attic, up several flights of stairs with the last being so narrow and only wide enough for a person (of normal size), so you had to drag your suitcase behind you. No windows in the room and very claustrophobic. After complaining we were moved to the room that we had originally booked, but only for one night as it was already booked for the following day for a bride (poor girl). What a shocking room! Large areas of paint pealing off in the bathroom. There is no doubt that this room was in need of a complete re-furbish and repair. Shower drain blocked which flooded the bathroom. A very dangerous bedside lamp which had a loose connection and would not stay on. Room not clean...3 hair grips 1 safety pin and a hair band found in a chair and on the carpet. Very uncomfortable bed. We were moved the following day to another smaller room, which was classed as a mini suite. Although not what we had booked, this room was very clean. The very young staff, (mainly girls) all appeared to have either started that day or had only been there for a very short time, and therefore did not know what to do. Sometimes ordering a drink from the bar was a 3 staff member affair, and very time consuming, as the first two staff members did not know what to do and had to find another member of staff, who also did not know what to do!

Very welcoming from staff and visitors.

Beautiful at Wortley hall. Made very welcome. Food was amazing and tried new recipes. Some parts of the room needs some decorative touch but apart From that was lovely and definitely will be returning.

More of a Hostel than a Hotel! Real Reviews ?????

The word Accommodation is listed but its the quality of a hostel in my mind! If there were ever a reason why the Labour party should never be in power this is a prime example. This hall celebrates the birth of Labour and is owned by one of the large unions. It is need of a major restoration and the staff can only work with what they have, i cannot knock them. But my two night stay witnessed no cleaning of the upstairs for three days as the ceilings were in a condemned state leaking like no care in the world. Had this been owned by a group who realise reputation is everything this building restoration would not be allowed to go a miss. I paid for an upgraded room and there was no joy in that. My view out was onto an ill kept water tanks area with weeds growing out of the poorly maintained masonary and area. I could see water ingress had stripped the mortar from between the bricks and it wont be long before this place will need to shut. I go to many manors and halls for hotels and unfortunately i will never return here. Covid is no excuse for building standards or attention to cleanliness. I was so disappointed that i went to check the details of how this place was described. On the front if the entrance they quote weddings and events. The word Accommodation is listed but its the quality of a hostel in my opinion! Think twice and book somewhere nice. Money talks! How the labour origins can celebrate this is beside me. Creepy Labour figures of the past are no comfort lol

Very nice place with very helpful and pleasant staff. Unfortunately choice as well as quality of food let the place down.
