Poor 2.0
So gross. I stayed here out of necessity as I was on standby for a flight and this was a convenient place to stay. The sheets were stained, the door to the rooms was just a glass door that had been covered in contact paper, tv didn’t work because the remote was “with the mechanic”. I didn’t even shower the next morning because I didn’t want to set foot in the shower. They have a weekly cultural dinner and show which meant the kitchen was shut down for the afternoon when I arrived and there’s nothing within walking distance except a gas station. The Hula Bar, has cheap drinks which is a rarity in Rarotonga and it’s a great view.

Poor 2.0
Everything was very poor here. It wasn't clean, it smelled, the TV didn't work, the bed was terrable and the included breakfast was horrible and very small.

I have stayed at this property a number of times. This time I stayed twice within a 2 week period. The firsr time we checked in i was told about a new policy change where if we did not allow a $500 hold on my credit card the manager had the right to refuse checkin. The receptionnist had made the mistake of telling one room she would take.a $100 cash bond and then telling me she would take a $500 hold on my credit card. There was no transparency about this new policy despite the hotel already taking our money for our reservations. There was a huge discussion about this new policy and how it applies from now.going forward. The following week when i.checked in there was no requirement or holding a $500 bond much to my surprise as the manager had made a big deal.about it the week.before. also the rooms are so dark and dingy. Only the location qis superb.

Bait and switch
The Islander Hotel had obviously over-booked and without letting us know ahead of time, we arrived to be told that we had been allocated into an old house located 5 minutes drive down the road at the end of the airport runway. We had booked the Islander as the rooms have A/C and they are just a walk across the road to the Raro airport. When we asked for an explanation, we weren't offered one and were told they'd get back to us...silence since.

Poor 2.0
Another couple and my husband and I both booked online and when we arrived at the hotel we were told we had to be taken to another hotel down the road. This was inconvenient as all of our friends were staying at this hotel. I would have preferred to be told there was no vacancy but it seems they would rather mislead you then lose the booking. Just confirm with them after you book. The standard of the room for the cost was inferior, although it was clean and a reasonable size. Had no milk so the tea and coffee they provided was no use to us.

Not my Choice for ur age group
This would never have been a choice for us(50-55age) but it was for convenience to airport(2 min walk) from us arriving from Aitutaki in the afternoon & an early morning flight out. Not that great of a response at checkin, no wifi to purchase had none left & hadn’t restocked & told us of nearest shop which we had no transport the whole reason we booked here fir convenience!!!! Anyway rooms were ummmm yep no go for us & laughed how they leave you complementary ear plugs as your room literally is on the grounds of the Hula Bar. We had dinner in restaurant which I wouldn’t return for. The whole thought of “convenience” the only reason I booked it didn’t come into play, next time I would stay elsewhere & pay gorcthe shuttle. I do have to say though everytime we are in Raro we do go to the Hula Bar & definately recomend it & this would be an ok stay for young ones wanting cheap accommodation no complaints for that but our age group...no! Even for the short time we needed it I would choose somewhere else

Rooms right next to night club/bar and very loud. Ear plugs do not drown out noise. Room very damp smelling, cockroach in bathroom. Staff gave incorrect information on a couple of matters.
