Good hotel with character
Overall the hotel was good, and had a lot of character. My only gripes were that it was kind of noisy, and parking was somewhat limited.

Charming but way to noisy.
The hotel is really cool because it’s redone and in a great area. But the hotel itself is very noisy. My husband and I barely slept because of noise on the streets outside and in the alleyways. Also people came back to their rooms in the middle of the night And were yelling and very loud. There is also an old elevator and anytime anyone used it that was also so loud. Maybe our room was just in the worst possible location in the hotel but it was bad. We stayed here for my husbands birthday and the hotel alone ruined the trip. We didn’t get any sleep. I will never stay here again nor recommend this place to anyone. The two women at the front desk were very charming and nice. Also parking is kinda ridiculous. Just not a man easy or relaxing experience. I need a vacation from my vacation at hotel Petaluma

Historic hotel offers character and calm
My daughter and I had a last minute college visit to Sonoma State and we chose this hotel for its charm and relative closeness to the campus. We had never been in the area before and this was such a gem. The venue is historic, relaxing and not your basic mainstream hotel. Hardwood floors, shutters and a welcoming fireplace in the lobby are pluses - not to mention - Otis, the oldest elevator in Petaluma. My daughter had so much fun operating the elevator we never opted for the stairs at all during our visit. Only caveats I can mention are the very endearing stores and restaurants in the downtown area close really early. For night owls, you need to prepare ahead but there is a refrigerator in the room to store perishables until morning. Parking can be problematic if you brought a vehicle.
