    Pinecrest Stay

I was allowed early check in, which was nice. I asked for recommendations for dinner places, and each one of the ones that was recommended closed, this was Friday and Saturday. Also on our first night, as soon as we turn the lights out at about 8 PM, we heard somebody with a key trying to get into our room, until we had to knock back on the door, and tell them that they had the wrong room. We tried to call the front desk and all we got was a recording. The person obviously had the wrong room, because all of the room numbers were on the outside of the door on a piece of painters tape that have been written on, and were barely visible in the daylight, let alone 8 PM. Needless to say, I got no sleep that night, and very little the following night.

Cops knocked on our door at midnight and said someone was claiming to be staying in our room and then asked if they could try the key this person had. We told the cops that person was not staying with us, but somehow when they tried the key this person had it unlocked our room.

    Clean friendly budget option

This place is a small, cute motel. It dates back to a nostalgic era of Route 66, but is under new management. Something of a work in progress, it clean, comfortable and remarkably quiet, considering that it is right across the Highway 66 from the railroad. It has a live-in owner, and is a good budget option.

    You can cook here

The room was perfect for our needs. With Covid-19 being an issue, we wanted a room with a kitchen so we didn’t have to eat out. The Presidential Suite was really nice, it had a full kitchen, a king sized bed, and 2 twin bunk beds at a really great price. The location is close to the train tracks and right off the main road, so it is a little noisy, but that was not a problem for us. I would stay here again.

    Good bargain for the money

Don't let the small size fool you. Rooms have been remodeled and are very comfortable. A good bargain if you are traveling and want a quiet, clean, comfortable and pest free room. The manager was super nice and accommodating. Towels were fluffy and ice machine was working. I used the laundry room and both washer and dryer worked. I ended up staying five nights.I would definitely stay at the Pinecrest Motel again!
