    Birthday Away

    In this crazy time I still wanted to still have a nice experience. Those who worked at the front desk was kind and helpful. The room was lovely and clean, with a awesome view. Also, the rooftop restaurant was great and the food - on point. I enjoyed my stay very much.

    HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

    I had a horrible experience. They are currently under construction so not only is it noisy, but looking out the windows were depressing. We bought a superior king room and it didn’t feel superior at all! The first room we were placed in was the second floor the room was extremely small and when I looked out the window I saw nothing because there was a big machine blocking it. We went down to the service desk and asked to be placed in a better room, we received attitude from the front desk employees and was placed on the third floor with the same issue of being placed next to all the construction stuff. The elevator took an eternity to get you from one floor to the next,but that’s not even the worse part! The next morning the alarms throughout the hotel kept going off, a front desk worker got on the intercom saying that “this was just a test” but from 8am (this is when I was woken up) until we finally gave up and checked out around 10:45 the alarm was still Going off at random. We complained about our experience and the man literally just grabbed a sheet of white paper and wrote “Room ###- Complaint”. My whole trip was ruined I received no sleep and left The Hugo hotel feeling defeated.

    Good experience with minor oversights

    We had a nice experience at Hotel Hugo. The staff was friendly and helpful about how to get around town. Also the location was good and quiet. The only issue was we got a used towel when we first got there and half used body lotion. We got new items after and didn't have further issues.

    Not bad near Soho

    I'm glad we stayed here but a little too far west for my taste. Best part was that you can find free parking in the area on the weekends. Hotel itself not bad. Lobby looking tired. Front desk crew great but is there a bellhop or concierge to help with taxis or car parking or luggage? Hard to find....No restaurant for now as it is being updated so can't comment on that. Rooms were very comfortable and clean with comfy mattresses and awesome thick towels. Rooms also very quiet, only hearing noise from a few insensitive guests that were loud in the hall. All the rooms are very close to the elevator so good for those with mobility issues. Very convenient to Soho/Canal Street.

    Much better options out there.

    A/C was not working, I made several complaints and they couldn't change my room until the last night. I was there for 4 nights. It was hot and unpleasant. Beds are not comfortable, rooms were not clean and housekeeping only cleaned half of my room each day, forgetting to take out trash and remove glasses. Water pressure in showers was awful. They lied to Hotels.com when I called to see if i could be moved to a new hotel because they couldn't fix the ac and couldn't move me to a new room as they said they were full. It was unpleasant as I came back from work every night when they claimed they fixed it then I would have to sit in the room with the manager on duty and the maintenance guy trying to fix the ac night after night. They were not understanding or willing to do anything but give me the service daily fee off but then they charged my card for that anyways. I ended up having to extend my work trip in NYC and I booked a different hotel what a huge difference one block over and much cheaper.
