Loved this place and loved the location.
This was the perfect place for our stay. We took our son, his wife and two granddaughters for a 4 night stay. Everyone agreed this place was in the perfect spot for everything we were planning to do. Our favorite thing to do was have dinner on the balcony. Really felt like we were back 100 years or so. Property was very clean and beds were comfortable. Liked there was 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms.; Privacy is important when traveling.

What we liked about Oglethorpe Lodge was the homelike feel and the large size. Having extra space - so your luggage is not taking up all the floor space, etc. - really makes all the difference. We were in the one BR apt. (with one and a half baths) which is on the third floor so you have to carry your luggage up two flights. But, it was well worth it. On this hot, steamy Savannah weekend, it felt wonderful to come back to this cool, comfortable apartment. It is also nice to have a free parking spot, which you reach from the alley. And, of course, the location is excellent!

Believe the positive reviews. It is a positive experience to stay at the Oglethorpe Lodge. The location is excellent. We stayed in the top floor which was the smallest unit, and it was still a very spacious unit with a full bathroom and half bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning works well for those who like it chilly. The stairs are very manageable. I am in my fifties and did not have any problems carrying the suitcases and the beach cooler up and down the stairs. If I had one suggestion, it would be to dump Direct TV and provide cable. But, that certainly is not going to keep us from staying there again if the unit is available.

Great location, free parking and close to river. We stayed in suite 902 which was spacious and roomy. Nice amenities and very comfortable beds. Definitely recommend.
