    Weekend getaway to Kansas City

Good location and clean. $5 for a mini bottle of Evian is excessive.

    Meh.

Everything was clean. Here are my complaints: no bathtub and didn't have a room with a bathtub I could get (insta pics made me think there would be one). No Room Service. The bar didn't answer my 5 calls so I had to walk up to order. The TV didn't work and I had to call about that too. It was an easy fix but they need to keep a document showing how to do it. Pretty hotel. Had to pay $25 for parking.

    Great anniversary trip

Area is safe, parking garage is safe and easy to navigate. Rooms and service were great and helpful. You're close to Arrowhead and The K and Downtown area. Short drive to Kansas City Joes or any BBQ joint.

Check-in was fine and the room seemed ok until I discovered the bed linens were a bit dusty and the heating system was not working. Hotel service was not able to fix the heating problem so I was moved to another room. The next room was not as nice looking and displayed worn and torn pieces of furniture. The room temperature was fine, however, the water temperature was not adequate. My previous stay was 2 years prior and much better. Staff was very polite and helpful.

    Overall, what I expected.

Clean & efficient service. When I got there I first realized that I had to pay $20, per day, for parking (gate ticket) in addition to their $25 surcharge. Nearly $50, per day, seemed a bit excessive, and there were very few nearby parking options at the time, April 2021. The bar, on the 7th floor is nice—even elegant—but pricey. The food definitely was not as expensive as their drinks. I ordered Old Fashion & Knob Creek, and spent a pretty penny. They had also just started a new dinner menu that week. I did not eat breakfast at this hotel. I did stay 4 nights, and went through the room with a UV ('black/purple') flashlight. Everything was spotless, besides the sectional (couch), which had a couple of dry spots on its surface. Since I was traveling solo dolo, I was not too concerned—I just did not use the sectional anyways. They were busy, which was nice to see. From my traveling experience(s), if you can manage a room.... Stay put. You may end up getting more than you bargain for if you're quick to change rooms. Wooden floors & imitation marble (granite) gave off a sublime appearance in the room itself. The sheets were spotless, and the interior climate control worked very well. The TV was modern, and allowed you the option to check-out without having to see the front desk. You simply leave your room card in your room. The service was excellent. When you pay for this kind of accommodation, nothing less can be expected.

    Tesla Charging Etiquette

Unhappy stay. I hope someone reads this who plans to stay here and not all the “good reviews” it’s electric vehicle charging etiquette to not leave your Hotel Company car in the charge stall UNPLUGGED. I’m a paying customer and you are lazy. I had to ask the manager to move her Tesla so as me as the GUEST could charge my Tesla. You were not thrilled you had to move not one but BOTH of your Telsa’s in the only 2 charge stations available. You clearly have NO respect for owning a Telsa. I can tell it’s just a company car. Now you know, privilege of driving our cars comes with some simple etiquette. Charging option was a big reason we stayed here for the electric charge option. Your hotel is also very dirty for $400 for the weekend. No complimentary breakfast. I will never stay here again. Your fancy website is highly misleading to what is reality.

I have stayed at The Fontaine probably close to 20 times. The location is great, the rooms are usually really nice. First time I booked through a 3rd party and room had synthetic foam pillows (Usually really nice and they brought up feather pillows second day after second request), shower sprayer didn't hook to hose and sprayed all over, fan in entry was SO loud they came second day and fixed, lamp didn't work. Don't stay in 216. Things that always will frustrate you every time you stay here: 1) You have to get your parking ticket validated every time you come and go. 2) Service in bar (unless you set at the bar and my bartender for that this time was great) is slow and sometimes just non-existent. I really like the property but if this room is like the others it is getting run down. They are updating their cafe which is now closed. If you like the Plaza the location is great. The pool area is really nice but service will be slow so don't go for a quick drink before meeting friends at Capitol Grill. You'll be late.
