Wine Country Inn
Excellent4.0 / 5
Charming small hotel nestled in the wine country. We had room 9 which had a small balcony overlooking a vineyard, sitting area and wood burning fireplace (which was pre-loaded with paper and wood to start a fire - nice touch!) Room was nice overall but would say the bathroom needs a renovation. Definitely showing it's age though everything was functional. Our companions were upgraded to a suite (#31 - California Cottage) due to the original room smelling strongly of tobacco smoke. The Cottage was stunning. Clearly had been renovated recently and was beautiful. Huge bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, separate two person shower, etc. Each evening they had a wine and appetizers offering for guests and the breakfast in the morning was very tasty. Another nice touch was free rides to local restaurants each evening. Overall a great choice in St. Helena.

Great place!
Beautiful grounds, great rooms. Great service. The only thing I would change is having a TV in the room.

Great Relaxing place to visit Napa
Great time! Amazing and friendly people working there, very informative and helpful. Beautiful view and easy to get to all the wineries in Napa Valley.

Nice Inn with Great Views !!!!!
Had a great time at the Wine Country Inn, centrally located to all the wineries and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The two things in which we didn't like was: 1) when we booked the Inn they offered us free van shuttle to and from restaurants, but when we checked in they told us they stopped the service. Someone should've informed us. Secondly, the room we had (#21), had an outdated bathrooms and rugs. The room is a nice size and a great balcony overlooking the wineries, but the room needs TLC, otherwise we had a nice time.

pluses and minuses
The gardens are gorgeous--full of herbs and flowers. Great for walking through and inhaling amazing fragrances. The pool is a nice size and very quiet. The breakfast was THE best I have ever had (pineapple waffles with banana syrup, egg souffle with cheese and artichokes, tons of other options, great coffee). The hotel offers free water and sodas to take on day trips to vineyards. However, the bathroom was tiny and the bed as rock hard. My husband and I tossed and turned all night. It could have benefited from a mattress topper and plus pillows. The decor was more like my Grandmother's house than an updated bed and breakfast. The lack of TV was not a problem, but the lack of cell signal was a huge problem. I had business calls in the AM and had either zero bars or one. My calls had to be made in the parking lot and even then they dropped 10 times an hour.
